Just keeping my balance, I slowly made my way to the closet, dragging every step as if my legs were made out of heavy lead blocks. My roommate was already up clicking away madly on his computer keyboard. “We have to go man, its 7:20am” I said in a rush as I put on my worn out jeans and a freshly scented t-shirt. He mumbled something under his breath, a hushed alien language, that made no sense to my feeble human mind. I shrugged my shoulders, grabbed my toothbrush and sprinted out my door to the bathroom. I passed door after door of the dull symmetrical hallways with not a single soul in sight. It was quite eerie and I burst through the bathroom door expecting the walls to be covered in blood with the foul stench of death filling the air. Although I did smell something foul, it was far from rotting corpses. I brushed my teeth like a lone sailor scraping off crustaceans from the bottom of an ancient ship. It was a tedious task, and it felt like centuries had passed before I was done. I managed to glance at my watch just in time to see it change to 7:40am. I dried my toothbrush and stuck it in my pocket. A huge boom echoed through the building as I broke the sound barrier. My feet seemed to leave the ground as I floated down the stairs and into the lobby. Some people say that I just melted through the exit gate and the door. “It was quite obscure….” said one sharply dressed associate working the entrance counter, “I have never seen anything like it.” My legs were well oiled pistons that caused my feet to hit the ground with such force that spider web like cracks rippled out of every step I took. As I turned the corner onto the main street I was awed by a colon crushing sight. There were over a million people wandering aimlessly over my path. I hesitated for a millisecond as I gathered my thoughts and tightened my muscles. In less time then I could comprehend, I was avoiding sluggish bodies as if they were all infected with some highly contagious disease. This was my only option, I could not risk attacking one of these mindless zombies as it would open me up to the infectious zombie blood which could have me eating brains in no time. After what seemed hours of dreadful evasion, I chanced a look at my watch. 7:48am. I was almost there, I could feel the safe confines of the cold yet homy classroom beckoning me to push onward. “Edric….” it said, “don’t give up, I need you.”(It was a woman’s voice I swear.) Finally, I arrived to the ultimate barrier. The Main Hall Staircase of Drexel himself. I could feel his giant stone eyes attempting to stab through my soul with all the strength of a Spartan Warrior, trained in deadly efficiency. I quickly used the little willpower I had left to create a virtual shield of righteousness. Seeing that I was trying to do the “right” thing, the huge rock head felt me worthy to continue and let me pass. I bounded up the stairs with legs made of metal springs, bouncing higher with each step until I was jumping floors. Out of breath and ready for a break, I shuffled into the classroom as if I had anvils for legs. I stumbled into a seat, weary eyed, just in time to hear an all to familiar voice. “Pencils out, you have exactly 50 minutes to finish this exam, good luck.”
